Responsible for the design direction of Telstra’s offerings to international audiences as well as locally, Oliver’s design and consultative work has encompassed across digital channels – including websites, microsites, eDMs, iOS apps and custom internal system applications.
Collaborating with Telstra’s brand team has ensured consistent brand stewardship between the many different digital agencies in Australia, Asia and the UK.

Solutions for business challenges
With over six years experience on the Telstra account, Oliver has an in-depth understanding of the various goals of Telstra's international arm.
Collaboration and consistent design output across multiple digital agencies across three continents is one such goal. With a complex brand architecture and guidelines, Oliver has aimed to introduce innovative workflows as part of an expansive, internal, digital design system.
The proof in the pudding
Budget, timeframes and design sign-off within a long chain of command are common pressures.
Devising a design system that is quick to apply in the design phase means increased efficiency, time to market and keeps a seamless transition between design and development teams.
This video demonstrates how Oliver’s intuitive, flexible design system can be used to produce a dev-ready microsite uploaded for client review in under five minutes.

The design thinking mindset
A fundamental pillar of this mindset is to experiment and test. Extensive research was done on how to pitch six different messages to our senior management user group.
These micro-animations for were produced for the Telstra Global website as part of the design discovery phase. They demonstrate how transitions and interactions can aid the user with discovery.
